Alcaidesa is described as a southern mediterranean paradise. It has over 300 days of sunshine a year. It is a beautiful, gentle and uncommercialised section of the  coastline, yet with much to do within easy reach. See the links below.

The Alcaidesa Links Golf Course, designed by Peter Alliss andClive Clark is the first competition standard golf course in Spain which falls into the Links category.

There can be fewer more beatiful settings in the world to play golf. It offers a most authentic and exciting round of golf, consisting of 5766 metres.

We can arrange a discounted golf package for you with our local contacts.

Alcaidesa Playa is a beautiful unspoilt sandy beach with views & walks running all the way round to Gibraltar. It has life saving, sports, bar & restaurant facilities through the summer months.

This is a lovely local place to spend the day, sunbathing, swimming, relaxing.

Walk towards Gibraltar if you want to be more active - along the beach & among the dunes.

Andalucia - Where do you start - there is just so much. This is the Alhambra palace at Granada - a wonder of the world - a full day out. Other half day or full day visits can be planned from the website link. For a first visit we would recommend:Days out - Ronda, Jerez, Marbella old town + Puerto Banus incl. boat trip & meal out. Half days - Marbella "old town" & meal out,  drive into National park- visit Jimena & Gaucin & picnic; ALSO Gibraltar - see below

Gibraltar – Click on the picture to open Gibraltar Info. There are a number of good recommendations for both days & half days.\Lots to do. We have tried the minibus tour so far & would recommend it.Take a minibus tour over the Rock. See the pillars of Hercules, visit the city under sieige exhibition, enjoy a meal in the central Casemates square. Take a dolphin safari trip.

Estepona family fun day out

Fuengirola Zoo

Recreates the tropical forest of Madagascar, Equatorial Africa & Southeast Asia. Under 1 hour to get there.

Gibraltar Dolphin safariA dolphin population visits the bay of Gibraltar to feed. This is one of the best places in Europe to see them.

Whale watching from Tarifa. This is on our list. We have visited Tarifa & the Roman ruins at Baelo a little way beyond. Stop & have a meal out in Tarifa also in one of the pavement cafes. It looks fun - we havent had the time yet to do it all.

Dolphin safari from Tarifa. Where the Atlantic & Mediterranean meet there is a high concentration of marine mammals: pilot whales, sperm whales & dolphins

Sea Life – Benalmadena. Its like diving beneath the sea without getting wet. You visit the giant aquariums to come eyeball to eyeball with everything from shrimps to sharks. Combine this with a visit to other things along the same section of the coast as it takes your fancy.

Bahia Water park – Family fun day out – close to Cadiz (1hr 15 mins). A world of water, sunshine & fun for all the family. There is a mini-park for younger children too.

Combine this with a visit to the city of Cadiz. The city stands on a peninsula - almost surrounded by the sea - there is a Moorish old town. It is a relaxed, easygoing & interesting place.

Selwo Marina & Adventure park. A great family day out. You can read about the options here with links through to other sites. There are a number of theme park options here - about 50 minutes away. We have not visited yet but you can read about other peoples days out.
